About Circle B Ranch
Circle B Ranch, located in Seymour, Missouri, was started in 2009 by Marina and John Backes. The couple relocated from Branchburg, New Jersey to the lush rolling hills of the Ozark countryside. The mild southwest Missouri weather is perfect for raising Heritage Berkshire hogs. John and Marina are passionate about the food they produce and the welfare of their animals. They firmly believe that an animal’s welfare is vital to the taste and appearance of the meat.
Circle B Ranch provides a clean and 100% natural environment to breed, farrow and raise Heritage Berkshire/Kurabota Hogs for both restaurant and consumer consumption. We accomplish our mission by raising the hogs using sustainable and humane production methods that adhere to the Certified Humane Raised and Handled and Animal Welfare Approved standards of operation.
Since the animals are free-ranged on pasture they do what hogs do best – root and graze for the majority of their food. The hogs have freedom to graze on the lush pastures and roam the woods foraging for nuts and acorns. Naturally raised pork is rich in Omega 3 fat, Vitamin D and free from any additional hormones and antibiotics. Circle B Ranch adds to the animal’s diet natural corn-soybean based food with mineral and vitamin supplements. Since Circle B Ranch manages the process from pasture to plate you the customer will immediately taste the difference. Our Berkshire hogs are bred, raised and process 100% in the United States.
At Circle B, our philosophy is a simple one: humane farming. We do not practice any confinement raising. The more humanely treated the animal, the better the meat will be.
About the Owners
Circle B Ranch is a family owned and operated Berkshire/Kurabota Pork Hog farm. Marina and John relocated from Branchburg, NJ in September 2009 to the lush and rolling hills of the Ozark Mountains.
We will provide a clean and 100% natural environment to breed, farrow and grow 100% Berkshire/Kurabota and Red Wattle Heritage Pork for restaurant and consumer consumption.
